Luis Cámara obtained his advanced degree in clarinet from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, graduating with honors. He then perfected his studies with Vicente Alberola (Principal clarinet in Mahler Chamber Orchestra) and Javier Martinez (Principal clarinet in RTVE Orchestra) for four years. He was a member of youth orchestras such as the Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, the Mahler Chamber Academy, and the Verbier Festival Orchestra.

He was former principal clarinet in Barcelona Opera house Orchestra from 2016 to 2019. He also collaborated as a principal clarinet with orchestras like Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Valencia Orchestra, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony and National Orchestra of Catalonia, Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra, and Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. He also collaborates with orchestras like Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Danish National Orchestra. He has worked with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Valery Gergiev, Simon Rattle, Daniel Harding, Teodor Currentzis, Klaus Mäkelä, Tarmo Peltokoski, Juanjo Mena, Lahav Shani, Semyon Bychkov, Antonio Pappano, Paavo Järvi, Nicola Luissotti, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Gianandrea Noseda, Elim Chan, Manfred Honeck, and Kent Nagano, among many others.
He is a frequent guest professor with the Basque Youth Orchestra, the Pamplona Youth Orchestra, the Madrid Community Youth Orchestra, and the Canary Islands Youth Orchestra, in addition to giving numerous masterclasses throughout Spain and England.
He is currently a soloist with the Basque National Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra.
