Zenosyne Saxophone Quartet arises in 2023 from an intermingling of four young musicians, graduated in Venice and Ferrara Conservatoires, with the main common aim to undertake a professional path connected to the quartet’s training, by promoting its peculiar qualities in various contexts.

The group, which has been perfecting at Chamber Music Master Degree in Venice, carries out an intense artistic career: concerts, research through collaborations with composers and performers, educational (with masterclasses and concert-lessons).

Boscolo, Luxich and Molinari have been working together for more than three years, collaborating with Teatro “La Fenice” in Venice, Musikamera and Musica con le Ali associations. With Serena Tarozzo, the creative energy is combined with passion and the group’s aim is to offer unique experiences to traditional audiences and new listeners alike. ZSQ prefers unique and innovative projects that embrace different topics and that include transcriptions, as well as original scores composed for this ensemble.

The group has been awarded First Prize at the prestigious International Chamber Music Competition “Giulio Rospigliosi” in 2024 and First absolute at the International Music Competition “Città di Piove di Sacco” in 2024 in the Chamber Music Category. The group has also been selected in the Finals for “La Follia Nuova” International Chamber Music Competition 2024 and “Premio AMV” International

The group currently participates in festivals and collaborates with important associations at national and international level, such as Asociatia de Concerte "Syrinx" (Romania), where they had the opportunity to play in the prestigious Palace of Culture in Iasi.

  

   

MEMBERS

 

  • Serena Tarozzo, born in 1997 in Chioggia (Venice), began studying the saxophone at a young age and graduated with her saxophone diploma at just 18. She later earned her Master’s degree with cum laude honors at the Conservatory of Ferrara under the guidance of M° Marco Gerboni, with a project for saxophone and images entitled "Nuances." In 2018, she joined the prestigious class of Jean Denis Michat in Lyon (France) and obtained a Master’s in Chamber Music in 2023 from the Venice Conservatory with special honors. She currently teaches at the “Piccolomini” Music High School in Siena. She currently performs in concerts in Italy and abroad as soloist and in various chamber ensembles. From 2023 she is the soprano saxophone of Zenosyne Saxophone Quartet.

  

  • Martino Luxich, born in Trieste in 1998, studied at the Venice Conservatory and honed his skills in Seville through the Erasmus+ program. He earned his Master’s in Saxophone in Ferrara with honors. Martino has participated in various recordings, won several international competitions, and since 2023, he has been playing tenor saxophone in the Zenosyne Saxophone Quartet. He has collaborated with the most prestigious orchestras in Italy, including the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

 

  • Samuele Molinari, born in 2002, began playing the saxophone at a young age and graduated with honors from the Venice Conservatory. He has won several national and international competitions and regularly performs as a chamber musician both in Italy and abroad. He has worked with prestigious musical associations and records for the British label "NMC Recordings.". As a soloist, he has played the most important repertoire pieces of saxophonist literature, such as 'Concertino da camera' by J. Ibert with the Orchestra of Teatro La Fenice di Venezia. He is the baritone saxophone of Zenosyne Saxophone Quartet, with whom he performs in music festivals all around Italy and abroad. 

  

  • Luca Boscolo, born in Venice in 2003, began his saxophone studies in 2014 and continued at the "M. Polo" Music High School in Venice. He has played in several regional orchestras and participates in numerous musical events across Italy. He is finalist and winner of several national and international music competitions. From October 2023 he is the alto saxophone of Zenosyne Saxophone Quartet, with whom he performs in music festivals all around Italy and abroad.
