The chilean clarinet player is both a concert artist and an educator, as she is the teacher of the "Pontificia Universidad Católica of Valparaíso" since 2013. She started her studies on the clarinet in the "Escuela Experimental de Música Jorge Peña Henn" and continues in the "Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile", where she graduates with honors, and obtains her Certificate in Musical Interpretation in Clarinet. Continues her studies in the National Regional Conservatory of Versalles, France, in the class of Philippe Cuper, and there receives both the CEPI diploma and the diploma of Perfeccionament.
Later on, she obtains her Master of Music in the University of Chile under the tutelage of Maestro Luis Rossi. Kathya has played as a soloist with various orchestras, such as The Chamber Orchestra of Chile, Symphonic Orchestra of La Serena and Symphonic Orchestra of Copiapó, among others. In 2013, the clarinetist went on tour to Ecuador and Colombia giving concerts and Masterclasses. She was part of the Chilean Bartok Ensamble from 2012 to 2015, with whom she went on various tours nationally and abroad, highlighting the participation of version no. 40 of the Cervantino Festival in Mexico. In 2018 was part of the Clarinet Fest, where she performed Zarabandeo in the presence of Arturo Marquéz.
