Jorge Puma began his musical journey at the age of 13, when he took his first saxophone classes. He completed all his musical training at the National Conservatory of Music of Peru. He studied 2 years at the Conservatorio Superior de les Illes Baleares (Spain) in the Mallorca Saxophone Studio, a prestigious saxophone classroom in Europe, having Rodrigo Vila (Spain), Beatriz Tirado (Spain) and David Brutti (Italy) as teachers and concluded his Master's studies in Solo Interpretation at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska in Madrid with Pedro Pablo Cámara as his tutor. He was the winner of the first National-Youth classical saxophone competition PERUSAX 2012 and winner of the First Pan-American Classic Saxophone Competition - Yucatan "Selmer Paris" 2019, that took place in the city of Mérida, Mexico.

He has been a soloist with different symphony orchestras such as: Yucatan Symphony Orchestra (Mexico), Symphony Orchestra of the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska (Spain), Arequipa Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Band and Symphony Orchestra of the National University of Music and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Ministry of Education (Peru). He has also participated in concerts as part of the Peruvian National Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductors such as Miguel Harth-Bedoya, David Del Pino, Carlos Jhonson, Fernando Valcárcel, among others.
Chamber music has vital importance for him, that is why he got involved in projects such as the Psaiko Quartet, with whom he won 2nd prize in the Ávila Musical Youth Competition in 2016 and the Lima Saxophone Quartet, group that carries out an intense academic and dissemination work of the classical and Latin American repertoire of the instrument, giving concerts in auditoriums of Lima and different provinces of Peru. At the present time, along with the Peruvian pianist Silvia Valdivia, he is part of NazDúo, a chamber music ensemble that develops a repertoire that ranges from original saxophone works to transcriptions. His curiosity and his eagerness to immerse himself in the language of music have led him to make trips to various festivals and courses in different countries such as Argentina, Brazil, France and Spain. He has received master classes with different teachers and saxophonists such as Jean-Marie Londeix (France), Arno Bornkamp (Netherlands), Vincent David (France), Nikita Zimin (Russia), Ryo Noda (Japan), among others. He was a member of the ONoff ensemble with whom he toured different auditoriums in Spain.
He has also developed his passion for teaching by giving master classes at various conservatories nationwide. He is currently a saxophone teacher at the National University of Music of Peru, at the Prestissimo Music Academy and at the Lord Byron School.
