John De La Paz is an international clarinetist, educator, and clinician whose career spans more than 25 years of performance and teaching in the United States and abroad. He has performed, presented masterclasses, and worked with students throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Japan.
De La Paz has appeared as a soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Municipal de Guatemala and has performed in prominent cultural venues including Guatemala City's Palacio Nacional de la Cultura. His international activity has included performances, residencies, clinics, and educational programs in Guatemala, Mexico, and other locations throughout Latin America, as well as appearances in Europe and Japan.

A committed chamber musician, De La Paz has collaborated with pianist and conductor Dr. Benjamin Loeb for nearly two decades. Their work together encompasses recital performances, educational residencies, masterclasses, and international cultural projects. De La Paz has also participated in Guatemala Clarifest, International Clarinet Association conferences, and University of Oklahoma Clarinet Symposiums.
His commitment to new music has included commissions and premieres of works by composers including Gary Kuo, R.A. Moulds, and James Grant. He is also an experienced educator and clinician whose teaching has reached students both in person and online, nationally and internationally.
De La Paz serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Doña Ana Community College, New Mexico State University. His work as an educator encompasses applied music, music appreciation, jazz studies, online education, masterclasses, and clinics.
