Born in 1972, Guillaume PERNES studied saxophone at the Dijon Conservatory in the class of Jean ARNOULT, as well as in André BEUN's class at the Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory. He was then admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Claude DELANGLE, where he won the first prize for saxophone unanimously in 1997.

Guillaume PERNES was a laureate of the Adolphe Sax International Competition in Dinant in 1998. As an orchestral musician and chamber player, he has been invited to perform with various French ensembles, such as the Paris National Opera, the French National Orchestra, the Ile-de-France National Orchestra, the Paris Orchestra, the National Orchestra of the Capitole of Toulouse, the Aube Symphony Orchestra, and the Göteborg Wind Orchestra.
He is a member of several chamber music ensembles, including the Arcane Saxophone Quartet, the Aeolia Quartet, the Saxiana Quartet, the Paris Saxophone Quintet, the Garde Républicaine Saxophone Quintet, and the Saxo Voce Ensemble since 2013.
He is currently the tenor saxophone soloist of the Garde Républicaine orchestras and teaches saxophone at the conservatory of the 12th arrondissement of Paris.
