Saxophonist and Educator

Born in Sicily in 1991, Giovanni Digiacomo is an accomplished Italian saxophone player and teacher based in Milan. He began his musical journey at the age of 9 when he first picked up the saxophone. Giovanni graduated with top honors in classical music from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan.

In 2009, he won a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, and in 2013, he was awarded another scholarship to the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven, Belgium. That same year, Giovanni was a finalist in the Massimo Urbani Jazz Competition, distinguishing himself as the only Italian alto saxophonist among the finalists.

His international career began in 2010, performing at 583 Park Avenue in New York City during the “XI Nova Conference” organized by Columbia University. In 2015, he performed at Expo Milano, and the following year, he released his debut album with the band *Highlights*. The album featured renowned Italian double bassist Attilio Zanchi and premiered at the inaugural concert of *JazzMi 2016*.

Giovanni has also made notable contributions to pop music, recording with Marco Mengoni, winner of Italy’s prestigious Sanremo Music Festival, for Sony Music.

Currently, Giovanni maintains a prolific performance schedule across Europe, including Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Malta, and France, with frequent appearances at major jazz festivals.
