« The extra wide bass straps from BG France Franck Bichon are exactly what I've been looking for for years »

Christophe Michaud, bassist/double bassist, former student of CMDL and Didier Lockwood, Marc Michel Lebevillon, Benoît Vandrestraten, Linley Marthe, accompanies Jul Erades, Ayad and Sary Khalifé.

I started music around 14 years old, through my surrogate father who plays guitar very well and my uncle who is one of the greatest bassists in the world. It's really just for fun and nothing professional. I start playing with friends, and little by little I get caught up in the game of working on the instrument. It's no longer work because it's a passion and the hours fly by without counting.

« They are so wide that the weight of my Fodera is perfectly distributed on the shoulder, you no longer feel the instrument and the fatigue caused by hours of playing disappears »

I form a band with very good friends, we quickly decide to compose and do covers in our own style. We start touring around the region, we win competitions that offer us recordings and help us gain good recognition locally.

A stroke of luck gives us the opportunity to play every week in a 4-star hotel. In the repertoire, we have to play everything: jazz, funk, variety, pop, rock, world music, etc. This commitment allows us to really expand our playing as well as our culture and especially to quickly obtain the status of intermittent artists, and thus make a living thanks to music.

« The anti-slip feature plays its role perfectly, the bass doesn't move, the discreet pick pocket inside the strap but hyper accessible in case of quick need, and finally the look with this beautiful leather that breathes quality. It's simple, I don't part with them anymore! »

From there, I start doing a lot of last-minute replacements in different groups of all styles.

The encounters lead me to accompany Jul Erades, Didier Barbelivien, with whom I record his latest album and whom I accompany on all his tours, William Pitt, an English singer with a gold record, Jean-Luc Lahaye, Linda de Suza, the Anglo-Swedish band We Ghost for their French tour, Esther Galil, Lisa Ángel, Alain Turban, Michel Orso, Aurélien Noël, Marina from Star Ac 6 for whom I arrange an album, Pierre Mathys from Star Àc 8, Simba Baumgartner, Django Reinhard's great-grandson, Sylvie Pulles with whom I record a DVD for her 35th anniversary, and the brothers Ayad and Sary Khalife, I also accompanied (and it was quite funny) a few official Johnny Hallyday and Jennyfer look-alikes.

These encounters also allow me to travel to Lebanon, Tunisia, Switzerland, Italy, obviously all over France, Belgium, and to play in magnificent venues: the Olympia, the Casino de Paris, the Folies Bergère, the Sébastopol theater in Lille, the Tunis Opera House, the Casino du Liban in Beirut, some Zeniths in France, to make numerous TV appearances and to record about thirty albums.

In parallel, I obtain my diplomas at CMDL, the Didier Lockwood school, to be able to teach bass, double bass in various schools in the Paris region and provinces.

And of course, the best is yet to come with BG France!
