The first Bordeaux Star Guitar show took place on July 4 and 5, 2025, in Pessac, near Bordeaux. This new event dedicated to the guitar brought together guitarists, enthusiasts, luthiers, and key players from the instrument scene around a shared passion: the guitar in all its forms.
The idea was clear: to create in Bordeaux a flagship event for guitar lovers, combining exhibitors, masterclasses, demonstrations, meetings, and live concerts.

Exhibitors & Luthiery
The show highlighted numerous professionals from the guitar world:
- local and national artisan luthiers,
- manufacturers of amplifiers, pedals, straps, strings, and various accessories,
- booths allowing visitors to try instruments under optimal conditions.
The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, with a large audience coming to discover the instruments, talk with exhibitors, and try out the guitars on display — many of which found buyers by the end of the two-day event.
Musical Program & Masterclasses
The weekend was marked by strong educational and musical highlights:
- A masterclass by Patrick Rondat, a leading figure of French instrumental guitar, hosted by Jean Fontanille.
- A conference with Yarol Poupaud, patron of the show, hosted by Jean Fontanille and Vincent Charnay, discussing music, energy, and approaches to the instrument.
- Live concerts:
Burning Jake (Friday evening), a Bordeaux-based rock/stoner/folk power trio.
Yarol Poupaud accompanied by the Quintana Dead Blues Experience (Saturday evening).
Franck Bichon, designer of BG Rocks straps and founder of the brand, was present at the show and will also host a booth at the second edition of the event, which will take place from June 26 to 28, 2026.
